Bega RSL Golf Club

The 5,819 metre course has a par of 72. The greens are very good and there are not too many bunkers. The fairways are well grassed. But it’s the huge trees, abundant bird life and lush smells of the fertile Bega Valley that form the backdrop to this most pleasing golfing experience.

Mens main competition day is Saturday with Ladies on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There is often a Medley Competition on Thursdays. Visitors are most welcome.

Bermagui Country Club

There are some fabulous views of Bermagui, Horseshoe Bay and Mount Dromedary. Fairways are lush and most are lined by a variety of beautiful trees. Be aware that at 6,085 metres (par 72) this is a serious walk with plenty of hills. You might consider a cart.

Golf competitions for men are on Thursdays and Saturdays and there is usually an 18 hole stableford event on Tuesdays open to both men and ladies. Ladies competitions are on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Candelo-Kameruka Golf Club

The golf course was designed by Laurie Auchterlonie of St. Andrews, Scotland, just after the turn of the 20th century, making it the oldest course in the region and one of the oldest in NSW.

The holes are named after World War I battles commemorating the Lucas-Tooth family, which owned the Kameruka Estate and lost several family members who were killed in action.

The greens are sand, the links design is challenging and there are 12 holes, although with alternate tee placements, 18 holes can be played. The course is 5,183 metres and par 67. There is an honesty box at the course.

Eden Gardens Country Club

Described recently by one golf scribe as the Augusta National of the far South Coast, this John Spencer designed, par 71, 5,706 metre layout, winds back into majestic native forest. It boasts wide, well-grassed and sometimes undulating fairways, fast challenging greens, reasonably friendly sand traps and a number of water hazards.

There are Mens and Ladies competitions on Wednesdays and Saturdays as well as 9 hole competitions on Wednesdays and Fridays.Visitors are most welcome.

The resort has a 9 hole golf course, 9 hole pitch and putt, aqua driving range and mini golf.

Pambula-Merimbula Golf Club

Natural beauty abounds with bushland, wildlife and views over the Merimbula Lake. Situated between Pambula and Merimbula, the course Golf Club is a high standard, 27 hole layout.

As each 9 has its individual character you can play a variety of courses and conditions, lengths and challenges, all at the one location. The greens are large and subtle and fairways are lush and well maintained.

Normal competition days are Saturday and Wednesday for Men and Tuesday and Thursday for Ladies and a mixed competition on Sundays. The club also has a special festival of golf each October. Pambula-Merimbula hosted the 2003 PGA Championship and also the 2004 event in March, 2004.

Tathra Beach Country Club

Located just behind the main beach, fairways are well grassed and undulating and the greens are good. The course follows the winding contours of the Bega River’s estuary, featuring abundant wildlife.

The 9 hole layout has different tee placements to enable an 18 hole round of 5,632 metres, par 72. The course is easy walking and given the proximity to the sea, stands up to wet weather extremely well.

Mens competition days are Thursdays (roll up start from 8.30am) and Saturdays (timesheet available). Ladies competition golf is on Tuesdays from 8.30am and Saturdays from 9am. There is a mixed competition on the last Sunday of each month.

Tura Beach Country Club

A high standard, beautiful and challenging course located 5 km north of Merimbula.

The variety of Tura Beach is amazing with the front 9 stepping down to the beach and some links-style holes offering breathtaking views of the blue Tasman Sea. The back 9 takes to the forest with abundant bird life and the lush scents of the eucalypts.

Designed by Michael Wolveridge and five times British Open winner Peter Thomson, it opened in 1984. The layout is 6,018 metres and par 72. Please be aware that this is no flat layout – so if in doubt take a cart!

Mens competition days are Tuesdays and Saturdays, Ladies competition days are Saturdays and Wednesdays. There are 9 hole ladies competitions on Monday and for men on Thursday, and a fun mixed competition on Sundays. Visitors are welcome to enter the competitions – ring for further details.
